Sytlish transitional home overlooks pond

This potential horse farm has both the barn and house located back from the road.  It is located a few minutes south of Raleigh just across the Wake County line in Johnston County.   It is a foreclosure property, priced at $449,900, so it will need a special buyer.

The three-bedroom home sits back off the road with a long earth driveway.  As you drive  to the house, you pass pastures, a pond, and the horse barn.  The house is brick veneer with over 2800 square feet and an unfinished basement.  The master is on the first floor, and there are two more bedrooms and additional rooms upstairs.  If you sit on the large front porch, you will overlook a pond and pastures.

Barn needs finishing

Solid barn with wooden stalls

Although the house is ready to move in, your horses can move in only after you customize the pasture fencing and barn.  Pasture fencing has been removed, so you can begin fresh with plenty of grass and add the fence of your choice.  Allow your horses to access the pond, or fence it off (if you have one that likes to swim like one of mine.)

The center-aisle barn is solid, with overhangs for equipment storage or run-ins.  It is easy to see how the barn can be completed in short order.  The fronts of the stalls are missing, so you can add doors which suit your preferences (sliders, dutch, half, or full).  There is room for at least four stalls and a tack room.

Although this central North Carolina horse farm needs a little work, it comes with a credit for a home warranty.   If you would like more information on this property or would like to visit it, email me at annecain@kw.com. About A Cain

I am originally from New York State and moved to Pennsylvania for college and graduate school. My husband and I later lived in California and West Virginia, and then we were transferred to North Carolina. I learned to ride as an adult, in North Carolina. I have two horses now: one wild-and-wooly teenager who is learning from me, and one former race horse that has turned into a school master for me. They are both pretty sensible and great on trails, so we go everywhere. They live with me on my own North Carolina mini farm. I love to sit on my deck in the evening and watch them graze.
